The Outbound Systems
Smart
Product Development
system is designed to manage and optimise the processes
of developing new products, and introducing new products
into the FMCG market space. This powerful solution
utilises a workflow engine to collect and distribute
data; to sequence, monitor and assign tasks, and to
create a range of custom reports, as well as providing
additional useful information such as contacts.
All in
all, it is a complete, customisable and flexible
development manager which makes product development
a swifter, smooth and organised process.

|
Data Gathering |
|
|
As the
process of developing a new product
progresses the solution collects data
from multiple work streams,
across multiple locations in both space
and time. A comprehensive product specification (data
document) is “built-up”
and stored
in one central, secure location
thereby avoiding
duplication and unnecessary data
errors. |
|
|
Data presentation/extraction |
|
|
Product specifications from the central data
document can be managed and
extracted as necessary . A powerful
framework for management information and
reporting is included through the use of the
Crystal Reports technologies.
Data is presented in multiple formats as
required. Reports are designed in isolation
based on the needs of the business. These are
then registered in the system and permissions
assigned.
This information can be integrated with
other systems such as the PDC, Legal Frameworks
etc.
Management information can be scheduled,
emailed, exported and mined. |
|
| |
|
|
Accessibility |
|
|
A comprehensive security
model allows you to create, manage and allocated
users to roles, responsibilities and permissions
throughout the product development lifecycle.
Those with permissions can
access the system via a web browser from
anywhere. |
|
| |
|
|
Task Sequencing and Escalation |
|
|
The
system is designed to minimise the duration of
the development process by ensuring that
activities are properly sequenced and not
activated until necessary. Tasks are pushed to workers
timeously and progress is monitored. Where tasks
have not been completed within the set
timescales, they are automatically reassigned
away from non-performing resources or
bottlenecks to ensure that timescales are met.

Special Reports |
|
Desired and Predicted
Launch Date
The solution calculates and monitors an
up-to-the-minute predicted launch date
and tracks this against the desired
launch date for each development.
Activity
Performance monitoring
The solution includes support for
multi-faceted working hours from the
company level to the new product
development level right down to the
individual workers. This facilitates the
monitoring of activity performance.
The progress of each activity is
monitored to ensure that time delays and
wastage are eliminated. |
 |
| |
|
|
Well - Built, Robust and Scaleable |
|
| The solution utilises the
following industry leading tools and technologies: |
|
-
Microsoft SQL Server as the
database engine
-
Microsoft .Net Framework as
the application and layer
-
K2.Net workflow for the
process management
-
Visual Studio 2005 and C# as
the programming language
-
Crystal Reports XI R2 for
management information and reporting.
|
 |
|
The architecture of the
solution and the use of these tools and technologies allow the system to scale
in a seamless and stable manner. |
|
| |
|
|
Customisable and Flexible with unlimited capability to
modify and extend processes |
|
| The system is highly
customisable to suite any need. The use of workflow for the management and
implementation of the development processes not only places control of the
processes in the hands of the business architect, but further serves to ensure
that the solution can be tailored in accordance with the business needs without
expensive and time consuming software customisation. |
